I like what you've done to the place

 

Here is what my flat looks like, complete with comfy chair, a floor lamp, Tintin poster and black aluminium blinds, as well as a mixture of wood, plastic and metal. I feel like it has a sort of 80's bachelor pad aesthetic about it a la American Gigolo (maybe I need more grey accents).

Out of the twelve official posters by some of Britain's leading artists for the 2012 London Olympics, these three would be gracing the podium, in no particular order. As someone who naturally seems to view things in relation to their surrounds, I automatically gravitated towards the posters I not only aesthetically preferred but also appreciated how they hung together, creating pleasing contrasts of straight lines, fluid paint, and varieties of  movement.

foreign films that were brought to Russia's rural areas and shown makeshift cinemas were promoted with these captivating naive posters, made to measure and on demand by hired 'professional artists'. many were employed in house to keep up with the steady stream of incoming films, seemingly mostly sequels.

Baskervilles Hund!

Possibly a drawing taken from the Swedish poster for the 1959 film 'The Hound of the Baskervilles', with Peter Cushing as Sherlock Holmes and Christopher Lee and Sir Henry Baskerville, which I watched last night.
